1. LoRa Sensors – Battery-powered sensors capable of detecting leaks while also monitoring temperature, humidity, and battery percentage. These sensors transmit data wirelessly using LoRaWAN, a low-power wide-area network ideal for IoT applications.
2. LoRa Gateway – Acts as a bridge between sensors and the cloud. The gateway collects sensor data and forwards it using 4G or Wi-Fi connectivity to the UCONNECT Cloud platform.
3. Cloud Platform & WhatsApp Alerts – Once the data reaches the cloud, the system processes it and triggers real-time alerts via WhatsApp API. Alerts follow a hierarchical structure of up to three levels, ensuring escalation if the first responder doesn’t act.
Key Features & Technical Highlights
1. Power Efficiency
* Gateway Power Supply: 24V, 2A DC
* Sensors: Battery-powered (2 × A-Type batteries)
* Battery Life: Up to 5 years, assuming 24 leaks/day and 24 scheduled data transmissions
2. Flexible Deployment
* Sensor Wire Length: 2 meters by default, extendable up to 10 meters
* Waterproofing: IP65-rated sensors for robust performance even in challenging conditions
3. Communication & Monitoring
* Wireless Communication: LoRaWAN for low power, long-distance data transmission
* Monitored Parameters: Leak detection, temperature, humidity, and battery percentage
4. Durability & Environmental Suitability
* Operating Temperature Range: -15°C to 40°C (5°F to 104°F)
* Designed for indoor and semi-outdoor applications where leaks pose risks
How Alerts Work
One of the standout features of the UCONNECT Leak Detection system is its WhatsApp API integration. When a leak is detected:
1. The sensor sends data to the LoRa Gateway.
2. The gateway forwards this data to the UCONNECT Cloud.
3. The cloud platform triggers a WhatsApp alert to the concerned personnel.
4. If the first responder does not acknowledge, the system escalates the alert to higher authority levels (up to 3 levels).
This ensures no leak goes unnoticed and action is taken quickly.
Real-World Applications
The versatility of UCONNECT Leak Detection Sensors makes them ideal for:
* Data Centers – Protect servers and infrastructure from costly downtime caused by water damage.
* Commercial Buildings & Offices – Safeguard valuable assets and prevent operational disruption.
* Industrial Facilities – Monitor pipelines, storage tanks, and production floors.
* Hospitals & Laboratories – Ensure safety of sensitive equipment and environments.
* Residential Complexes – Provide homeowners and facility managers peace of mind.
